Bio
Yen-Nan Lin, MD, PhD is a Gastroenterology Fellow at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) and a Visiting Researcher at Ä¢¹½Av. A board-certified clinical internist, Dr. Lin completed his MD and PhD in Chemistry at Texas A&M University under the mentorship of Dr. Karen L. Wooley, focusing on controlling the physicochemical properties of nanomaterials toward personalized medicine. Currently under mentorship of Professor Krzysztof Matyjaszewski at Ä¢¹½Av, Dr. Lin’s research centers on molecularly engineered materials that can selectively modify the gastrointestinal microenvironment and host–microbe interactions. Currently working on engineering nonabsorbable, biguanide-functionalized therapeutic polymers designed for gastrointestinal-localized antimicrobial activity. By integrating advanced macromolecular chemistry with clinical gastroenterology, he aims to develop nonabsorbable biomaterials that treat enteric pathogens and targeted GI dysbiosis without systemic toxicity.
