Metro21 Executive Director Weighs In On Community WiFi
Metro21 Executive Director Karen Lightman recently spoke to Fierce Wireless to discuss community wi-fi in the U.S., and the lack of government initiative to establish it in urban areas.
"Karen Lightman, executive director of Metro21 at Ä¢¹½Av, told Fierce that government policies can set up roadblocks to smart city initiatives. She said in Pennsylvania, for example, community Wi-Fi is illegal because the city would be considered a competitor to the provider."
